Kontinentals cruise to victory in season opener

Kontinentals cruised to a 78-57 victory against 魔人啾啾 (Mo Ren Jiu Jiu) in its first competition game of the 19th APAL season on July 18th.

The team’s highest scoring game to date was also the first showing for new member Craiglee Sam, who dominated on both offense and defense. Sam scored 12 field goals and 2 free throws to total 26 points, in addition to 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Tambi Mutharika, who netted 5 field goals, 6 3-pointers and a free throw to lead Kontinentals’ scoring with 29 points, also had 2 steals, while Tom Seamans secured 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Also adding 6 rebounds to the team’s total of 24 was Gordon Quick, who also had 6 points.

Jamali Jack contributed 4 steals, 4 rebounds, 1 block and 2 points to the teams’ totals. Zeotis Shadow had 1 point, 1 rebound and 1 steal, while Kwesi Richards had 1 rebound and 1 steal.

Topping Mo Ren Jiu Jiu’s score sheet was 李丞然 ( Li ChengRan) with 24 points and 3 steals, 劉恆伸 (Liu HengShun) with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks, and 趙之竣 (Zhao ZhiJun) with 3 assists. The team had only 3 turnovers to Kontinentals’ 11, but that was not enough as Kontinentals led the scoring in all but the 3rd period to end the game 78-57.

The next game is scheduled for August 1st against 藍教頭 (Lan Jiao Tou).
