First and foremost, I am a student of the game. I’ve been involved in basketball for twenty years, mostly as a player, but more recently as a coach and athletic conditioner. I have played all five positions over the span of my playing career from junior varsity through to university. As a coach, I stress fundamental basketball, teamwork and athletic conditioning.

I’m old school so I believe the best offense is a great defense. While solid team man-to-man is the backbone of my defense, I believe it is important to disrupt the opponents’ rhythm with various zones. These combinations, along with appropriate full-court presses create transition opportunities and easy points.

The other key to success in basketball is team rebounding. My half-court offensive sets are in the Princeton style with a lot of player and ball movement. The goal is always to get layups first and open jump shots second. This style of basketball frustrates opponents and destroys their will to compete, so my players must always be composed and under control.

I coach my teams to play as I do, with intensity, passion, knowledge and good fundamentals.
